England registered a mammoth victory of 227 runs in the first test against India. Credits to the double hundred by the skipper Joe Root, and the extraordinary English bowling. India didn't stand a chance to get away with the first match.  The Chapter 2 of the series was written 3 days later, on the same ground of Chennai. India comfortably won the second match by 317 runs. Ashwin with a century in the third innings and 8 wickets helped India to cross the line. With the series being leveled at 1-1, India and England head off to Ahmedabad for the third test to played from 24-28 February. The third match will be a day-night match and will be played with a pink ball. India has previously played only 2 pink ball matches, the third one being at Ahmedabad. India has pulled off something extraordinary today, at The Gabba in Brisbane. Australia had remained unbeaten at the Gabba since 1988, 32 years of sheer dominance at the venue. But this new, disciplined India managed to successfully end their winning streak and retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The 4th and final test, which happened to be the decider with the series hanging at 1-1, started on January 15th. Australia made a giant total of 369 in their 1st innings, to which India replied with a 336, leaving Australia with a not-so-big lead of 33 runs. Australia wishing to put enough runs on board for India to chase, managed 294 in their 2nd innings, giving India a huge target of 328.
